Lathe D250x550

So what lathes are there with a maximum turning diameter of 250mm and 550mm between centres?

What other lathes are there in this rough size range?

Steam Boiler from Domestic Copper Pipe

Just a thought really and looking for comments:

Has anybody ever made a steam boiler out of 15mm or 22mm copper tube?

Also, has anybody used the standard pipe end caps for this purpose?

Model Engineer Exhibition

104 years old in 2011. This is the model engineering exhibition and not to be confused with the London Model Engineering Exhibition.

Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition

Went to this for the first time last year. Great event with friendly people who are willing to talk about their models. Lots of stalls to purchase tools and materials. There is an outside area where some trains and tractions engines get fired up.

Look at the Meridienne Exhibitions website for more details.
